The T-28 tank with the 85-mm F-30 gun was developed in 1941. One prototype was built and underwent trials. Unlike mass-produced T-28 tanks, the vehicle featured different armament. No sources were found proving that the tank was mass-produced or used in action.

This variant of the M3 Lee was manufactured in the United States specifically to be supplied to the U.K., where it was designated the General Grant (Grant I).
