Comparing: M44 vs. AMX 13 F3 AM
A 155 mm SPG on the chassis of the M41 light tank. The vehicle saw action in the Korean War. In the early 1960s, improved SPGs of this type with rotating turrets were introduced, and the M44 was removed from service. According to different sources, between 250 and 600 vehicles were manufactured from 1953 through 1954. |
Developed at the end of the 1950s on the basis of the AMX 13. The vehicle was mass-produced until the end of the 1960s and is still in service in France, Argentina, Chile, Ecuador, Morocco, and other countries. |
