Comparing: Cromwell vs. Pz.Kpfw. V/IV vs. A-43

The Cromwell was developed in 1941–1942 by BRC&W. A total of 1,070 vehicles were mass-produced from late 1943 through 1945. They were extensively used by the British Army in the Northwest Europe Campaign of 1944–1945.

Only one prototype was built. The Pz.Kpfw. IV turret was mounted as a stationary module on the Panther hull for testing.

Developed at Factory No. 183 in 1941 under the designation A-43. The vehicle was to replace the T-34. The A-43 was conceived to feature a torsion bar suspension, a V-5 engine, a new transmission, a commander’s cupola, and front armor enhanced to 60 mm.
