Developed at Factory No. 183 in 1941 under the designation A-43. The vehicle was to replace the T-34. The A-43 was conceived to feature a torsion bar suspension, a V-5 engine, a new transmission, a commander’s cupola, and front armor enhanced to 60 mm.

M4A3E8_Sherman

Also known as M4А3(76)W HVSS. At the end of August 1944, a new bogie suspension was designed. The vehicle variant was mass-produced and saw battle beginning in late March 1945, with a total of 4542 vehicles of both suspension types manufactured.
